Indications
Vigorex 25 is used to treat men with erectile dysfunction, which is the inability to achieve or maintain an erection for satisfactory sexual performance. For Vigorex 25 to work, sexual stimulation is needed. Vigorex 25 is also used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension.
Pharmacology
Vigorex 25 works by increasing the levels of cGMP in the penis when sexual stimulation occurs. This helps relax the muscles and allows more blood to flow into the penis. Vigorex 25 does this by blocking the enzyme PDE5, which normally breaks down cGMP. Vigorex 25 has no effect on its own without sexual stimulation. The body processes Vigorex 25 mainly in the liver, and Vigorex 25 lasts about 4 hours in the system.
Dosage & Administration
Erectile Dysfunction: The usual dose is 50 mg, taken about 1 hour before sexual activity. Vigorex 25 can be taken anytime between 4 hours and 30 minutes before sex. The dose can be adjusted between 25 mg and 100 mg depending on effectiveness and tolerance. Vigorex 25 can be taken once a day at most.
Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension: The usual dose is 20 mg, taken three times a day, with or without food.
Interaction
Vigorex 25 is mainly processed by certain enzymes in the liver. Drugs that affect these enzymes can change how Vigorex 25 works. Some medicines, like ketoconazole and erythromycin, can increase its levels in the body, while others, like rifampin, can decrease its levels. Vigorex 25 should not be taken with nitrates or nitric oxide donors, as this can lower blood pressure too much. Taking Vigorex 25 with some other medications, like alpha-blockers, may also lower blood pressure and cause dizziness.
Contraindications
Vigorex 25 should not be used by anyone allergic to any of its ingredients or by those taking nitrates, as Vigorex 25 can dangerously lower blood pressure.
Side Effects
Common side effects include face swelling, headache, dizziness, and stomach pain. Vigorex 25 can also cause heart problems, vision issues, and prolonged or painful erections. Serious effects like heart attack, stroke, or seizures can occur, though these are rare. Consult a doctor if any of these happen.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Vigorex 25 is not intended for use in women and should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Animal studies have not shown harm, but there is no clear evidence in humans.
