Indications
Xerocid is used to treat symptoms caused by acid, bile, and pepsin flowing back into the food pipe. These symptoms include heartburn, acid reflux, indigestion, and discomfort after eating or during pregnancy. Xerocid can also help with throat irritation, cough, and voice problems linked to acid reflux. Additionally, Xerocid may be used alongside or after stopping acid-reducing treatments.
Pharmacology
Xerocid contains two active ingredients: one that forms a gel when Xerocid reacts with stomach acid and another that creates carbon dioxide bubbles. These bubbles get trapped in the gel, allowing Xerocid to float on top of stomach contents. This floating layer acts as a barrier to prevent acid from flowing back into the food pipe. The gel remains in the stomach for up to 4 hours before breaking down and being excreted naturally.
