Indications
Xflam 400 is used to relieve symptoms of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid disorders like osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, juvenile arthritis, and degenerative joint diseases. Xflam 400 is also used for painful menstruation (primary dysmenorrhea), common headache, fever, and mild to moderate pain, such as muscle pain, headache, and dental pain. Additionally, Xflam 400 can be used as a supplement with common cold or flu associated with headaches.
Pharmacology
Xflam 400 is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by reducing pain and inflammation. Xflam 400 is the active form of ibuprofen and works by stopping the body from making prostaglandins, which cause inflammation and pain.
Pharmacokinetics
Xflam 400 is absorbed mainly in the small intestine and is processed by the liver. Most of the drug is then excreted by the kidneys. Xflam 400 reaches its highest concentration in the blood about two hours after taking Xflam 400. Taking Xflam 400 with food can slightly delay this, but Xflam 400 does not affect how much is absorbed by the body.
Dosage & Administration
The dosage depends on the severity of the condition. For chronic pain, the lowest effective dose should be used. The typical dosage is 600-900 mg per day in 2-3 doses. In more severe cases, the dose can be increased to 1200 mg per day. For painful menstruation, the dosage ranges from 600 to 900 mg per day in divided doses.
