Indications
Xicotil 20 is used to treat pain and swelling in various conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and other musculoskeletal disorders. Xicotil 20 can also help with tendinitis, bursitis, shoulder-hand syndrome, strains, sprains, and acute gout.
Pharmacology
Xicotil 20 is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that reduces inflammation, pain, and fever. Xicotil 20 works by blocking substances in the body that cause inflammation and pain. Xicotil 20 also helps prevent blood clotting and reduces cartilage breakdown in joints. Xicotil 20 has no harmful effects on genes or unborn babies in animal studies. However, Xicotil 20 can affect the kidneys and stomach.
Dosage & Administration
Standard dosage: For most conditions, take 20 mg once a day at the same time.
Acute gout: Take 40 mg for the first two days, then 20 mg for the next five days.
Chronic disorders: Higher doses may cause more side effects, so stick to 20 mg a day unless advised otherwise by a doctor. For long-term treatment, a lower dose of 10 mg may be used.
Special dosage instructions: The dosage is generally the same for elderly patients or those with kidney or liver problems, but there is not enough data on children and adolescents.
Interaction
Xicotil 20 should not be used with other NSAIDs or salicylates as they may increase the risk of stomach problems.
