Pharmacology
Xidolac is a strong painkiller from the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) group. Xidolac works by blocking an enzyme that helps produce chemicals called prostaglandins, which are involved in inflammation and pain. Xidolac has a small effect on inflammation when used for pain relief.
Dosage & Administration
Tablet: The recommended dose is 10 mg every 4-6 hours. Xidolac should be used for a short time only (up to 7 days) and not for long-term use. A dose above 40 mg per day is not recommended.
Injection: Xidolac can be used as a single dose or multiple doses for moderate to severe pain after surgery. The injection is given over 15 seconds for IV and slowly into the muscle for IM. Pain relief usually starts within 30 minutes, with the strongest effect in 1 to 2 hours. The effect lasts for 4 to 6 hours.

Switching from Injection to Tablet: When switching from injection to tablets, the combined daily dose (oral + injection) should not exceed 120 mg for younger adults or 60 mg for older patients. On the following days, oral doses should not exceed 40 mg per day. The combined treatment should not last more than 5 days.
