Indications
Xyloken 10ml is used to prevent pain during minor surgeries in the ear, nose, and throat. Xyloken 10ml is also used to reduce pain and discomfort during dental procedures, especially before an injection. Xyloken 10ml helps prevent coughing during general anesthesia. Xyloken 10ml is also used to reduce pain during the final stages of childbirth, particularly before cutting or stitching the perineum (the skin between the vagina and anus).
Pharmacology
Lidocaine works by blocking the flow of sodium through specific sodium channels in the nerve cell membrane. This prevents nerve signals from being sent, which helps to stop pain. Lidocaine works faster on nerve cells that are more active, making Xyloken 10ml useful for quick pain relief. This is known as state-dependent blockade.
