Indications
Zemalog 0.1% is used to treat both wet and dry eczema. Zemalog 0.1% helps with conditions like psoriasis, eczema around the genitals, nummular eczema, and inflammation in skin folds. Zemalog 0.1% is also effective for contact dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, dermatitis herpetiformis, neurodermatitis, and seborrheic dermatitis.
Pharmacology
Zemalog 0.1% contains Halcinonide, a synthetic steroid used to reduce inflammation, allergy symptoms, and itching. Zemalog 0.1% is highly effective for treating skin conditions because of its special base. This base helps the medicine work quickly and last longer. When applied to healthy skin, Zemalog 0.1% can be absorbed, and skin conditions increase its absorption. Using a covering over the area will increase how much of the medicine gets absorbed. Once absorbed, Zemalog 0.1% behaves like other corticosteroids in the body.
Dosage & Administration
Adults: Apply to the affected areas 2-3 times a day. For long-term use or for lower-strength treatments, use occasionally.
Children: Use the smallest amount needed for effective treatment.

Contraindications
Zemalog 0.1% should not be used by people allergic to Halcinonide. Zemalog 0.1% is also not recommended for treating rosacea or for use in treating itching alone.
Side Effects
Zemalog 0.1% is generally well tolerated, and side effects are usually reversible when the treatment is stopped. However, some side effects may occur with long-term use, such as burning, itching, irritation, dryness, folliculitis, hair growth, acne-like eruptions, lightening of the skin, dermatitis around the mouth, skin breakdown, secondary infections, thinning skin, and stretch marks.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Zemalog 0.1% is classified as Pregnancy Category C. Do not use Zemalog 0.1% on large areas, in large amounts, or for long periods. Zemalog 0.1% should only be used during pregnancy if the benefits outweigh the risks to the baby. Zemalog 0.1% is unknown whether Zemalog 0.1% passes into breast milk, so Zemalog 0.1% should be used cautiously by nursing mothers.
Precautions & Warnings
Zemalog 0.1% should not be used with a covering on large areas of the body due to the risk of systemic side effects. Zemalog 0.1% should not be used on eye infections or leg ulcers. Long-term use, especially in children, should be avoided.
