Indications
Zeromig 1.5 MG is used to prevent vascular headaches like migraines, including classical migraines, common migraines, and cluster headaches. Zeromig 1.5 MG is not effective once a migraine attack has started.
Pharmacology
Zeromig 1.5 MG works by blocking the actions of serotonin and histamine that affect blood vessels in the head, which helps reduce pain in migraines. By blocking certain receptors, Zeromig 1.5 MG also reduces the effects of serotonin on blood vessels and platelets. Zeromig 1.5 MG may also help reduce the effect of bradykinin, another substance that contributes to pain. Zeromig 1.5 MG is believed to affect appetite through metabolic changes rather than directly stimulating appetite.
Dosage & Administration
Adults: Normally 1.5 mg daily. This can be taken as a single dose at night or in three smaller doses. The dosage can be increased based on individual needs, up to a maximum of 4.5 mg daily. Up to 3 mg can be taken in a single dose.
Children (over 2 years old): Up to 1.5 mg daily, usually in divided doses, though 1 mg can be taken as a single dose at night.
Interaction
The effects of sedatives, sleeping pills, antihistamines (including some cold medicines), and alcohol may be stronger when taken with Zeromig 1.5 MG. Zeromig 1.5 MG also reduces the blood pressure-lowering effects of certain medications.
Contraindications
Zeromig 1.5 MG is not recommended for patients who are allergic to any of its ingredients.
Side Effects
The most common side effects include an increase in appetite, weight gain, and drowsiness.
Pregnancy & Lactation
There is limited information on its use during pregnancy, although no serious problems have been reported. Zeromig 1.5 MG should only be used if the potential benefits to the mother outweigh any risks to the baby. Zeromig 1.5 MG is not known if Zeromig 1.5 MG is safe during breastfeeding, so Zeromig 1.5 MG is better to avoid Zeromig 1.5 MG while nursing.
Precautions & Warnings
Patients with urinary retention or kidney problems should be cautious. Drowsiness can affect your ability to drive or use machinery. Zeromig 1.5 MG can make the effects of alcohol stronger.
