Indications

Zincfol is used to treat and prevent deficiencies of Folic Acid and Zinc.

Pharmacology

Zincfol is a special combination of Folic Acid and Zinc Sulfate Monohydrate. Zinc is an essential mineral needed for various body functions. Severe Zinc deficiency can cause skin problems, hair loss, diarrhea, more infections, and memory issues. Folic Acid is a B-vitamin that helps in processes like making DNA and some amino acids. A lack of Folic Acid can lead to megaloblastic anemia, which can happen due to poor diet, malabsorption, pregnancy, certain blood conditions, or taking folate blockers.

Dosage & Administration

Take 1 tablet daily or as directed by your doctor.

Interaction

Large amounts of Calcium can reduce Zinc absorption. No drug interactions with Folic Acid have been reported.

Contraindications

Zinc should not be used by people allergic to Zincfol. Folic Acid should not be used in people with untreated cobalamin (Vitamin B12) deficiency.

Side Effects

Zincfol is generally well tolerated when used at the recommended dose. Some people may experience mild side effects such as stomach pain, indigestion, nausea, vomiting, fever, or breathing problems.
