Indications
Ziska Oral Saline is used to replace fluids and electrolytes lost due to:
- Acute diarrhea
- Vomiting
- Dehydration
- Other conditions of fluid loss or lack of intake in patients of all age groups.
Pharmacology
Ziska Oral Saline is a solution containing glucose, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, and sodium citrate. This formulation helps treat or prevent dehydration caused by diarrhea, including cholera, and is suitable for people of all ages. Ziska Oral Saline also helps prevent acidosis, which is caused by an electrolyte imbalance.
Dosage & Administration
Children under 2 years: After each loose stool or vomiting, give 50-100 mL (10 to 20 teaspoonfuls) of prepared oral rehydration solution.
Children between 2 and 10 years: After each loose stool or vomiting, give 100-200 mL (1/2 to 1 glass) of prepared solution.
Adults and children over 10 years: After each loose stool or vomiting, give 200-400 mL (1 to 2 glasses) of prepared solution.
Note: During treatment, continue normal food intake for adults and do not stop breastfeeding for children.

Precautions & Warnings
If a person has kidney problems or is experiencing severe, ongoing diarrhea, additional treatment with intravenous fluids may be necessary along with oral rehydration.
